We’ve got some exciting news to share! Miik was featured on Global News Toronto this week for Black Friday. It was such a special moment for our team, and it gave Donna the chance to talk about where it all began. And yes… it started with a famously ugly orange skirt. That buttery soft orange skirt got her hooked on slow fashion and thinking about how clothes could feel amazing and be better for the planet, and that’s how Miik was born! Now we’re known for our incredibly soft and stretchy styles, made from sustainable fabrics. Plus, we’re entirely women-run, to boot!
The segment also highlighted one of the things we’re most proud of: every Miik piece is made right here in the Toronto area, from custom-milled fabrics to finished garments. Donna even got to show a few of our favourite styles on air and talk about one of our core values: giving back.

Seeing our favourite Miik pieces on air was such a special moment for us. It was exciting to share a little piece of our world, from the fabrics we love to the soft, stretchy, comfy styles you’ll want to live in.

Giving back on Black Friday
Every year, we use Black Friday as a chance to not just offer great deals, but to support local organizations doing incredible work. Thanks to our amazing community, we’re able to give back where it really matters. This year, we supported two meaningful initiatives close to the hearts of our team:
The Love Club
The Love Club is a grassroots group supporting babies and mothers in need by providing new baby clothing to registered charities across Ontario. They design and produce their own line of baby clothes, called Club Kid, and donate them directly to women’s organizations, charities, and non-profits who work on the front lines with mothers in challenging and at-risk situations.
A big shoutout to Jodi, our Production Manager, for volunteering with them and introducing us to this beautiful organization. We were also thrilled to have Lauren Walker Lee, Founder of The Love Club, join us on our live online fashion show to talk more about the Love Club and how Miik is involved.

Women’s Habitat
Women’s Habitat provides safe shelter, housing support, and trauma-informed services for women, children, and youth impacted by or escaping gender-based violence. Their core values of collaboration, compassion, integrity, and optimism guide everything they do, and their vision is a future where everyone can live safely, with equity, and free from violence.
A big shoutout to our Lex, our Social Media + Community Manager, for introducing us to this incredible organization.
A BIG thank you to the Miik community for making it all happen!
We’re so grateful for every single member of the Miik community, not just for supporting us, but for the kindness you show each other every day. Seeing how you lift each other up in the Facebook group and look out for one another honestly warms our hearts. Your generosity and thoughtfulness make this community something really special. And for that, we’re SO thankful!
As always, your support inspires us to keep giving back and spreading a little love where it’s needed most.
We’re so grateful to have a community that makes everything we do possible. Black Friday may be a busy time, but it’s also a reminder of the impact we can have together. Thank you to our amazing Miik community for being part of this journey with us, and for helping us spread a little love this holiday season.
With much love,
Your Miik team 🤍
