10x10 Challenge | Casual capsule wardrobe

10x10 Challenge | Casual capsule wardrobe

We have another 10x10 challenge capsule for you and this time we made a casual capsule wardrobe.

If you’ve been looking for everyday outfit ideas, you’ve come to the right place. We’re going to create 10 different outfits out of 10 items of clothing. The goal is to style our existing closet and learn to do more with less!

What is a 10x10 challenge?

The 10x10 wardrobe challenge is simple: pick 10 items from your closet, create 10 different outfits, and wear them over 10 days. That’s it!

Knowing the basics of building a capsule wardrobe will definitely give you an advantage, but don't worry, it's really simple. All you have to do is make sure your items are versatile and match each other. That goes for both the styles and the colours you pick.

What items are included in a 10x10 challenge?

We really wanted to challenge ourselves and add pops of colours to brighten up the wardrobe. So we picked white, black, beige, teal and pink for our palette. This is a great example to show that you can add bright colours to the typical neutrals to complete a capsule wardrobe.

The items that were chosen are a combination of cozy, casual and stylish pieces that can be worn at home or outside. We also added in a few casual fleece styles that are perfect for this time of year.

Here are the ten items we selected:

  • 4 tops (tank top, tshirt + 2 long sleeves)
  • 3 bottoms (Jeans, joggers + slouch pant)

  • 2 layering pieces (cardigans)

  • 1 pair of boots (for this challenge, we’ve selected 2 different options given your colour preference)

Quick tips for choosing your items

Pick your wardrobe must-haves (core-pieces), then add in your supplementary items. Don’t get too caught up forcing things to match, if it’s not working just swap it out.

Plan your items around the weather and your schedule. You may need more long sleeves and jackets instead of tank tops and tshirts. These are important things to consider to be able to complete the 10 day challenge successfully. And don’t forget, winter coats and accessories are not included in the 10 items.

If you’re finding this a bit hard, you can always swap out the shoes for an extra clothing item. It’s all about what works for you at the end of the day.
